A room booked to one person

No floor to share, no waiting on a rack, and nobody working in behind you. Just you, a coach, and an hour where nothing competes for attention, which is the entire difference between being trained and working out near someone who is paid to be there.

Every session is programmed for you: your goals, your training history, your injuries, your schedule. It gets adjusted as you go, because the plan that was right in week one usually isn’t the one that’s right in week six.

What a session looks like

A warm-up built for what you’re about to do rather than five minutes on a bike. The day’s main work, coached rep by rep with the weight and the tempo decided in the room, not on a spreadsheet written a month ago. Accessory and conditioning work that fits the time left. And a short conversation at the end about what’s next, so you leave knowing why you did what you did.

Strength, conditioning, athletic development, getting moving again after a long break, or training around something that hurts, the session is built around the person in front of us.

Where you’ll train

Our studio is a private training space in North Austin: a strength room with racks, bars and dumbbells, plus a climate-controlled room for conditioning, mobility and assessment work. It’s deliberately small, never more than three people in it, by appointment only.

We’ll say plainly what it is, because we’d rather you know before you book than be surprised at the door: this is a converted garage and a converted office at our home, not a commercial gym. If what you want is a big floor, a locker room and a membership card, we’re honestly not it. If what you want is a coach, good equipment, and an hour where nothing competes for attention, it’s better than any gym floor we’ve ever worked on, and we ran one for eight years.

Parking is on the street directly outside. You’ll get the exact address and arrival instructions once your first session is booked.

Pay what you can

This product carries a regular rate and a minimum. You choose any amount at or above the minimum when you buy, and nobody is ever asked to explain the number they picked.

We’ve run our group training this way for years and we’ve extended it to the studio. The reason is simple: we’d rather coach you at a rate that works than have you priced out of coaching altogether. Pay the regular rate if you can, it’s what the work is worth and it’s what keeps us doing this. Pay the minimum if that’s what this stretch allows. Pay above it if you want to make room for someone who can’t.

Nothing about the session changes based on what you pay. Same coach, same programming, same hour, same attention. We don’t know what you chose while we’re coaching you, and we wouldn’t train you differently if we did.

Nutrition comes with it

Every personal training client gets nutrition guidance and accountability included, not as an upsell, and not as a handout you never open. Training is the easy half; what happens the other twenty-three hours is where results are actually won or lost.

We start with what you’re already eating, not a template. From there: practical targets, food you’ll really buy, and adjustments as your training changes. One structured check-in each week and a longer review once a month, through a single channel so nothing gets lost, with a reply inside one business day.

We provide general nutrition guidance for healthy people. We’re not dietitians and we don’t provide medical nutrition therapy, diagnose anything, or advise around medication or a diagnosed condition. If your situation calls for that, we’ll say so and refer you to a registered dietitian we trust rather than guess.

How it works

Buy your sessions and name your price at checkout. You’re taken straight to the scheduler to pick your times, and your sessions sit on your account until you use them, you can see what’s left and what’s coming up any time from your account.

Sessions are booked around your availability rather than published in advance, so if you don’t see a time that works, tell us when you can train and we’ll find one.

Practical

  • Everyone who trains signs a waiver once, online, before the first session, the link comes with your confirmation email and takes a minute on a phone.
  • Athletes under 18 are welcome, and a parent or guardian is always welcome to stay for the session. Under-18 waivers need a parent or guardian’s signature.
  • Bring normal training kit and indoor shoes. Everything else is here.
  • Sessions run to the hour. Arriving late shortens the session rather than the one after it, there’s usually someone booked behind you.
  • Sessions expire 60 days after purchase, so buy the pack you’ll realistically use.

Training with someone else?

Bringing a spouse, a friend or a training partner costs less per person, see Semi-Private Studio Personal Training, capped at three, with everyone still on their own program. If getting to us is the problem, see Come to You Personal Training instead and we’ll bring the session to your home, garage or yard.
