Details
Adult Athletic Group is group training for adults in Cedar Park. Indoors on turf, early, before the day gets hold of you.
You don’t need to be an athlete. You don’t need to be in shape, or to have trained in the last decade, or to know what half the equipment is for. The session is built so the same hour works whether you ran a half marathon last spring or your last real workout was in college: different loads, different distances, different rest, same coaching.
It’s also not a beatdown. Plenty of early-morning training sells exhaustion as the product: you’re meant to leave wrecked and take that as proof it worked. That’s a fast route to quitting in week three and a poor way to get fit. The measure here is whether you feel better at ten in the morning than you did before you came, and whether you’re able to come back on Wednesday. Progress comes from the sessions you actually do, not the ones that impressed you.
Sessions cover:
- Strength: squatting, hinging, pressing, pulling and carrying, loaded to where you are
- Athletic movement: running, changing direction, jumping and landing, taught rather than assumed
- Conditioning: built into the work, dosed to train you rather than empty you
- The unglamorous parts: warming up properly, and the positions a desk job quietly takes away from you
Coached, not led. Someone is watching how you move and telling you what to change, the same thing we do with athletes, at a load that makes sense for an adult with a job, a commute, and a back that has opinions.
Mornings are on purpose. Evening plans get eaten by work running late, by traffic, by somebody’s game. An early start only gets cancelled by you. Training indoors means August doesn’t cancel it either, or rain, and turf is kinder than a parking lot.
How it works. Your first class is free, and you can claim it straight from the schedule before you buy anything. After that, pick the option that matches how often you’ll realistically come, and book your spots from the schedule. There’s a drop-in if your weeks don’t run the same way twice.
Bring water, an exercise mat, and regular athletic shoes.
