One-on-one coaching, outdoors

A full hour with a coach, on grass and open ground. Same coaching as a private studio session, same undivided attention, in a setting that suits some work better than any gym floor does.

It is for two kinds of people. Athletes working on speed, acceleration, change of direction, jumping and conditioning. And anyone who simply wants to get fitter and stronger and would rather do it outside than inside.

Outdoors is not the budget option

Speed work needs ground to cover. Reaching real top-end speed and then decelerating safely takes distance that most indoor spaces provides, and the ground an athlete competes on is uneven, outdoors, and in the weather. Training there is the closest match to what they are preparing for, not a compromise on the way to something better.

What a session involves

The hour is written for you and adjusted as you go. Sprint mechanics and acceleration work. Changing direction, jumping and landing, taught rather than assumed. Strength and conditioning using equipment that travels: sleds, med balls, bands, carries, bodyweight progressions. Whatever the session is, an experienced coach is guiding how you move and telling you what to change, which is the entire difference between training and just working out.

When the studio is the better buy

We will say this plainly rather than let you find out: there is no squat rack on a field. If what you need is loaded barbell work, heavy squatting, pressing, pulling, then book one-on-one in the studio instead. Plenty of people train in both places depending on what that block of training is for, and a coach will tell you which one your goal actually calls for.

Weather

We train rain or shine, within reason, and light rain and cold are part of it. Lightning, dangerous heat, or ground we judge unsafe and we move or cancel the session, you get a message, and the session credit stays on your account. Texas heat is real: come hydrated and bring water.

What to bring

Regular athletic shoes, hydration, mat, and clothing suitable for the weather. Athletes, bring cleats if you have them. We provide the equipment needed for each session.

For athletes under 18

Young athletes train outdoors with us all the time. A parent or guardian signs the waiver once online before the first session, and parents are always welcome to stay. If a group would serve your athlete better than one-on-one, we will say so, our outdoor groups give most athletes more coaching for less money.

Pay what you can

This session carries a regular rate and a minimum. You choose any amount at or above the minimum when you buy, and nobody is ever asked to explain the number they picked. Pay the regular rate if you can, it is what the work is worth and it is what keeps us doing this. Pay the minimum if that is what this stretch allows.

Nothing about the session changes based on what you pay. Same coach, same programming, same hour, same attention.

How booking works

Buy a single session or a pack, then book your times from the schedule. Sessions sit on your account until you use them and expire 60 days after purchase, and the pack you buy matches the session length you book. Outdoor sessions run at set times rather than any hour you like, so check the schedule before you buy a larger pack.
